Best Nasi Lemak in Selangor

Best Nasi Lemak in Selangor

Nasi lemak is undoubtedly one of my favourite Malaysian dishes. It is considered the national dish in Malaysia. It is a Malay fragrant rice dish cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaf. It is often served with spicy sambal, hard-boiled eggs, slices of cucumber, ikan bilis, peanuts and so many more other accompaniments.

Here are the some places to try out the best nasi lemak in Selangor

1. Village Park Restaurant

Touted as the Best Malay/Malaysian restaurant in Time Out KL’s Food & Drink Awards 2016, Village Park has been catering to lovers of nasi lemak for many years ― some who have even travelled great distances just to get a taste of the restaurant’s famous dish. Their fried chicken is juicy, delicious and you get to taste just enough crispy fried batter with the chicken. Rice is served fluffy and fragrant while the sambal is also equally excellent. This restaurant has long canteen-style table and is often difficult to get a seat here, especially during peak hours.

Address: 5, Jalan SS 21/37, Damansara Utama, 47400 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Opening Hours: 6:30am - 7:30pm daily

2. Nasi Lemak Bumbung

This famous nasi lemak eatery has been operating in SS21 for more than 20 years. The  name bumbung is derived from the venue which is set at a back lane of shop lot which does not have a roof over it. A standard plate of Nasi Lemak with fried chicken cost RM6 which comes with anchovies, sunny side up egg, peanuts, and sambal. The unique part of this nasi lemak is the chicken skin which is made of aromatic Indian herbs.

Address: Jalan 21/11b, Sea Park, 46300 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Opening Hours: 5:30pm - 4am
Tel: 016-4939204

3. Big Tree Head Mamak

Big Tree Head Mamak have been cooking up their legendary Nasi Lemak Ayam for the past 30 years. Their USP would be the Ayam Goreng which is made fresh everyday. Super crispy and crunchy on the outside while the inside is extremely moist and juicy. Customers may choose between the sweet and spicy sambal sauce, or even a good combination of both!

Address: Persiaran Mergastua, Kepong Baru, 52100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur
Opening Hours: 4pm - 4am

Definitely worth all the calories!

Not Your Typical Roadside/Ramly Burger Stall

Not Your Typical Roadside/Ramly Burger Stall

Alongside other dishes like nasi lemak, roti canai and satay, ramly burger has cemented itself as one of the MUST TRY food in Malaysia. Ramly burgers are known to be affordable and customizable and they are often found on any neighborhood streets/roadside at night.

Looking for the best of the best ?!

This roadside stall in Selangor, Malaysia has been serving 100% ribeye patty and is known as the best roadside burgers. According to some, it is said to be comparable to those in steak house/cafes!

Operated by an owner with experience for over 20 years in the F&B industry, Sixty Bites grew from being a small humble stall to a food truck located in the streets of TTDI. This local burger stall has become viral and was even featured in The Star newspaper: https://www.thestar.com.my/metro/eat-and-drink/2018/06/21/flipping-burgers-worth-every-bite-ttdi-stall-draws-long-queues-with-its-flavourful-choices

AFTER

Sixty Bites serves beef, chicken and lamb burgers but certain items are subject to availability because the patties have to be made fresh daily. They also serves other sides such as fries which are all homemade as well.

What differentiate it from your normal ramly burger is that their patties are 100% homemade minced ribeye meat which are made fresh daily with NO chili sauce or ketchup used. The cooks follow a special recipe that has a unique combination of ingredients, well seasoned and cooked to perfection that makes customers go ''This is it la"

The Chezburger is known as their best seller and is basically a beef patty topped with caramelized onion jam, mustard pickle mayo and tomato that is sandwiched between a custom made Lebanese bun. Multiple add ons such as extra patties, beef strips, cheese and onion jam are available at reasonable prices.

Hail Ceaser burger is recommended for those who can't take beef.  It is made of 100% minced chicken breast, served with crispy lettuce, creamy caesar sauce, tomato and chilli flakes.

The waiting time is between 30 minutes to 40 minutes, yet there is still a long queue for it, even under the pouring rain!

RM10 for one of the best burgers in KL! Totally worth it!
